Melanie and I have wanted to create something together since our previous shoot a while back; So we made it happen! A little background: She’s a yoga instructor. Naturally I gravitated towards utilizing her profession for the shoot. Yoga and Earth Creature Mag have many things in common; Being centered, self-aware and connecting your mind, body and soul. It’s a very grounding practice that fits our approach and mentality.
Shameless plug out of the way – we met up and jumped right into nature with some yoga.
Bending, Stretching and Shaping
Yoga is quite challenging, both mentally and physically, despite what one would think. The connection of mind, body and soul when you’re truly engaged is not an easy task. Sure, anybody can physically attempt to stretch and twist, but the mentality of being truly connected is pure harmony. Or so I’ve been told.
Bringing the inside out and baring it all
We explored more in the forest, looking to find some backdrops and natural props that fit the yoga mood, and allowed for some fun poses. We found a bunch of trees that truly let Melanie flex and get into the zone.
… but naked, and one with nature.
The Earth Connection
Getting into the mood and warming up a bit, we tried out some naked yoga poses.
Censorship sucks, unless it’s natural
Of course, what would being one with nature be like without the censorship? At least when you’re posting to Instagram.
Bridging the Gap
As we got closer to the end of the shoot, we walked back towards our starting point and found this really cool bridge which worked out as a great focal point for yoga, so we grabbed some last shots before calling it a day.
Peaceful, focused and beautiful. Just like Melanie and the work we created.

We had a wonderful time exploring, chatting and creating – but of course, you can’t forget to capture some bloopers.
